Wickmayer stays hot; Hantuchova exits Luxembourg

Opensemifinalist Yanina Wickmayer posted a quarterfinal win, while fourth-seeded Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova came up a loser Friday at the $220,000 Luxembourg Open.
A fifth-seeded Wickmayer stayed hot with a 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 6-1 victory over qualifier and fellow Belgian Kirsten Flipkens, while capable Israeli Shahar Peertoppled Hantuchova in 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) fashion at CK Sportcenter Kockelscheuer.
The 20-year-old Wickmayer captured her second WTA Tour title of the year last week in Austria.
The other quarters saw sixth-seeded German Sabine Lisicki level Swiss veteran Patty Schnyder 6-4, 6-2 and Swiss Timea Bacsinszky overcome Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 6-4. Schnyder stunned U.S. Open champ and five-time Luxembourg titlist Kim Clijsters here on Thursday.
Saturday's semifinals will see Wickmayer take on Bacsinszky and Lisicki battle Peer.
This week's titlist will claim $37,000.
