Moreno hit with additional suspension and fine
New York, NY (Sports Network) - The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee announced on Wednesday that D.C.
United forward Jaime Moreno would be suspended for one additional game and fined $250 for endangering an opponent with a blow to the head during United's game versus FC Dallas on Sunday, Sept. 28.
Moreno struck FC Dallas midfielder Andre Rocha in the face in the 84th minute and was issued a red card for the offense.
The fine and suspension are in addition to the automatic one-game ban and $250 fine for the red card, totaling a two-game suspension and a $500 fine.
Moreno will miss United's next two matches, against Chivas USA on Oct. 4 and the Houston Dynamo on Oct. 12.
