  • Houston's Robinson to serve 3-match suspension

New York, NY (Sports Network) - The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee fined Houston Dynamo defender Eddie Robinson $1,000 and suspended him three games for violent conduct during the Dynamo's game vs. the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday, the league announced on Wednesday.

Robinson was involved in a physical confrontation with Wizards defender Tyson Wahl in the 47th minute of the match. No foul was whistled on the play, but the MLS Disciplinary Committee decided that the incident involved unnecessary contact of an egregious nature by Robinson to Wahl's head, which constitutes a red card offense.

The three-game suspension will be served by Robinson during the Dynamo's games on April 19 vs. the Los Angeles Galaxy, April 26 vs. the Columbus Crew and May 3 vs. Chivas USA.
