    With New York up one goal in the second half of a match against Eastern Conference rivals the New England Revolution at Giants Stadium on Saturday, Adam Cristman drew a questionable foul right at the top of the Red Bulls? penalty area 11 minutes after the first-half break. The home side put a seven- man wall up to stop the shot, but Jeff Larentowicz's blast found the back of the net to tie the score at 1-1, which is how the game ended.

  • Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - It was a tale of two halves for Real Salt Lake and Toronto FC on Saturday afternoon.

    After RSL came out passive in the opening 45 minutes in it's Major League Soccer fixture at Toronto, the Salt Lake City club fell behind and couldn't equalize after the break, despite pressuring the home goal repeatedly.

  • The two Major League Soccer sides are currently tied for second place in the East, two points back of Columbus, with a winner meaning a new leader on Sunday.

    The F, who ire are one of two unbeaten squads in the league heading into the weekend fixtures, are coming off a 1-0 victory at expansion San Jose last weekend.

  • "Joe is an experienced, veteran player who will add some needed versatility to our club," Galaxy Director of Soccer Paul Bravo said. "He brings a lot to the table and will be able to help the club immediately."

    Franchino, 31, has appeared in 211 career Major League Soccer games, scoring five goals and 23 assists. He began his career with the Galaxy in 1998 when L.A. drafted him out of Washington in the third round of the MLS College Draft. Franchino came to New England in 2000 through the MLS Special Draft.

  • The first meeting, both teams season openers, ended in a 1-1 draw after Goats forward Maykel Galindo scored late to even things up at Pizza Hut Park on March 30.

    Both teams are finding their identity early, with Dallas boasting one of the league's most versatile attacking units, led by midfielders Juan Toja and Arturo Alvarez and forward Kenny Cooper.

United was playing its sixth game in all competitions in the past three weeks when it lined up against the Columbus Crew in a Major League Soccer fixture on Thursday night at RFK Stadium. That busy early season schedule showed in a 2-1 loss that dropped United to 1-3-0 on the season, the team?s second straight league disappointment and third loss in a row overall.

    "I didn't think we were as sharp as we needed to be," United coach Tom Soehn said.

  • Houston hasn't scored in two of its three Major League Soccer games this year and in five of seven matches in all competitions.

    The Dynamo are one of only two winless teams in MLS - the San Jose Earthquakes are the other - but their early-season woes and inability to score repeats the same path that led to the MLS Cup last season.

  • Washington, D.C. (Sports Network) - The Columbus Crew's Guillermo Barros Schelotto and D.C. United's Marcelo Gallardo will meet for the first time in a Major League Soccer fixture when their respective teams square off at RFK Stadium on Thursday, but they are far from strangers.

    The two veterans have played numerous matches on the same side as members of the Argentina national team in the past, as well as numerous fixtures against each other as members of Argentinean rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate.

  • Robinson was involved in a physical confrontation with Wizards defender Tyson Wahl in the 47th minute of the match. No foul was whistled on the play, but the MLS Disciplinary Committee decided that the incident involved unnecessary contact of an egregious nature by Robinson to Wahl's head, which constitutes a red card offense.

    The three-game suspension will be served by Robinson during the Dynamo's games on April 19 vs. the Los Angeles Galaxy, April 26 vs. the Columbus Crew and May 3 vs. Chivas USA.

"Our group has put a lot of work into this process, from getting him into preseason training so we could evaluate him to getting all of the paperwork completed behind the scenes.     Ekpo, who participated in much of the Crew's preseason training, had returned to his native Nigeria in March to take part in CAF Olympic Qualifying. Ekpo and Nigeria took care of business in qualifying action, defeating South Africa, 3-0, on March 26, to advance to the '08 Olympic Games in Beijing.

  • Moose spent the past two seasons with United after being picked by the club in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft.

  • The Crew attack combined to set up the first goal in the 25th minute. Robbie Rogers sent a cross in from the wing for Alejandro Moreno who was taken down by Chivas defender Jim Curtin in the penalty area. Schelotto stepped up and struck the ball down the middle beating Brad Guzan as he dove to his right.

    "Obviously, I just wanted to make sure that I scored instead of trying to get cute with it and go either way," Schelotto said. "I just tried to strike it hard and the goalkeeper went the wrong way."

  • Tyler, 19, signed with the Revolution following an extended trial with the club. The product of Phoenix, Ariz., youth club Santos FC played in two preseason games with the Revs in New Orleans. He has also made two appearances in the 2008 MLS Reserve Division as a guest player. Tyler spent the '07 calendar year training with Centro Atletico Fenix of Uruguay's top division.

    The Revolution will be back in action Saturday, when they face the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium.

  • The Hoops (1-0-2) weren't about to let that happen for the third week in a row, earning their first victory of the season, 2-0, against the visiting New York Red Bulls on Saturday night.

    Arturo Alvarez and Kenny Cooper, who both scored goals is last weekend's 3-3 tie at Houston, scored the only goals of the game to lead the Hoops to the win.

  • Caig replaced injured starter Pat Onstad in last week's 3-3 tie against Dallas and allowed all three goals. But the English-born goalie, who last played for Gretna in Scotland, redeemed himself at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

    The 6-foot Caig made three saves against Kansas City's Claudio Lopez, who is one of six designated players in the league.

  • Led by Schelotto and Rogers, the Crew outgunned visiting Chivas USA 4-3 for their second win in three games this season.

    Schelotto got things rolling when he scored in the 26th minute, converting a penalty kick after Chivas USA defender Jim Curtin took Alejandro Moreno in the box.
