Avs activate D Liles, F Galiardi from IR

Liles had been out for five games because of a shoulder injury suffered on November 6. In 10 contests this year, he has two goals and three assists.

Galiardi, a rookie, has six points in 13 games this season. He has missed nine contests with an ankle injury.

Stars F Neal suspended two games

The incident occurred during Thursday's game in Columbus, when Neal appeared to leave his feet to check Blue Jackets defenseman Marc Methot along the boards.

He missed and connected instead with Jackets forward Derek Dorsett, and the force of the contact drove Dorsett's face into the glass.

Streaking Flyers drop into Shark Tank

The Flyers seek their first win at HP Pavilion in over 10 years tonight when they try to snap a 10-game winless streak versus the Sharks.

Including a 4-1 loss to San Jose at home this season, the Flyers haven't beaten the Sharks since December 21, 2000, going 0-6-2 with a pair of ties in 10 meetings since. Philadelphia is also 0-3-1 with a tie in five trips to HP Pavilion since its last win there on November 5, 1999.

Canucks and Avs meet again

Vancouver now begins a five-game homestand versus Colorado tonight at GM Place in what is already the fourth meeting between the division rivals this season.

The Avalanche took the first matchup between the clubs back on October 3, but the Canucks have answered with a home victory of their own before an 8-2 triumph in Colorado last Saturday. The victory allowed Vancouver to end its swing with a 2-3-0 record.

Moulson, Isles take on Wild in St. Paul

Fresh off his first career two-goal game, Moulson will look to lead New York to another win tonight on its seven-game road trip in a matchup with the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center.

Skating in his third season, Moulson entered the 2009-10 campaign with six goals and 10 points in 29 games over the previous two seasons, both with the Los Angeles Kings. The 26-year-old has 10 goals and 18 points through 21 games with the Islanders, however, and netted a pair of tallies in Monday's 4-1 victory over Boston.

Panthers pay Red Wings a visit

Bruins continue road trip versus Sabres

The Bruins had dropped three straight games before picking up a close win Thursday evening in Atlanta. Boston, which was the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference last year, is now third in the Northeast and three points behind the division-leading Sabres. Not bad considering the Bruins have just three wins (3-3-3) in nine games this month.

Patrice Bergeron got the lone goal of the shootout, and Tuukka Rask produced a solid effort with 32 saves, as Boston got by a hot Atlanta Thrashers club, 4-3, at Philips Arena.

Capitals square off against Canadiens

The Capitals had a four-game winning streak halted Saturday in New Jersey, but then used the return of Alex Ovechkin to help spur them to a victory Tuesday evening in Manhattan against the New York Rangers.

Matt Bradley pumped in the go-ahead goal with 4:51 remaining in the third period, as Washington posted a 4-2 win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

Huselius, Blue Jackets continue strong start with win over Stars

The big defenseman gathered the puck deep in the Blues end, worked his way up ice, then cut into the middle slot before firing a wrist shot past a surprised Ilya Bryzgalov for the game winner.

Erat's shootout goal lifts Predators past Devils

Caps bring up Carlson

Blackhawks begin six-game swing in Calgary

The Blackhawks trip out west couldn't come at a worse time, though, as Chicago's 4-3 overtime win over San Jose at the United Center on Sunday was the club's seventh straight at home. The 'Hawks wrapped a perfect four-game homestand with the victory and are 10-2-1 as the host this year.

On the other hand, Chicago is just 2-3-1 as the guest and has lost three straight away from home. The Blackhawks will look to end that skid out west, as they visit Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, San Jose, Anaheim and Los Angeles on the swing.

Devils hope to start new road streak in Nashville

Coyotes shoot for consecutive wins in test with Blues
