Ochoa still in front at suspended Tour Championship

A lengthy weather delay on Friday set the tournament back and caused the suspension of play for darkness. The action didn't get started until 2:00 p.m. (et) Friday afternoon because of storms and play was called sometime shortly after 6:00 p.m.

Ten players had to complete the first round on Friday after Thursday's round was stopped for darkness. No one finished the second round and the afternoon wave of tee times didn't play a hole.

Senior rallies to win Champions Q School

Senior finished at 17-under 267 for a three-shot win at the TPC Scottsdale, leading a group of five players who earned fully-exempt status on the Champions Tour next season.

"Getting in here has been an unbelievable thing," Senior said. "I can now set my schedule and I'm excited about playing on the Champions Tour next year." His victory was made easier by the collapse of two other players.

Westwood grabs two-shot lead in Dubai

Westwood completed 36 holes at nine-under 135.

The Englishman could win the season-long Race to Dubai with a victory this week. Rory McIlroy, Martin Kaymer and Ross Fisher can also win the bonus money from that race.

Michelle Wie, who finally earned her first LPGA Tour victory last week, shot an even-par 72 in round one, but withdrew after the round due to a recurring ankle injury that was clearly bothering her on Thursday.

"This tournament, and the support shown from the fans in Houston, meant a lot to me and I wanted to do everything I could to fight through the injury," Wie said in a statement. "It bothered me last week in Mexico, but I was able to play through the pain. I realized today that I wouldn't be able to continue to play through it. I want to make sure that I'm being smart with it, so I will return home to have it looked at by my doctors and follow their advice for treatment." There is quite a bit at stake this week, but nothing more important than the Player of the Year race. Ochoa is second, eight points behind Jiyai Shin, and can capture her fourth Player of the Year title with a big tournament this week.

Haskins stretches lead at Champions Q School

Haskins, a longtime Nationwide Tour player who has made only one start in the last four years, moved to 17-under 196 with one round remaining at the TPC Scottsdale.

Ronnie Black fired the low round of the tournament thus far, a seven-under 64 that moved him from a tie for 11th place into solo second at 13-under 200.

Allenby leads by one in Dubai

Haskins seizes lead at Champions Q School

Haskins, a longtime Nationwide Tour player, finished two trips around the TPC Scottsdale at 11-under 131, giving him a two-shot lead over five players as the tournament reached its halfway mark.

First round co-leader Curt Byrum, a former PGA Tour winner, trailed by only a shot when he reached the 18th hole, but a closing bogey left him two back after a 68.

U.S. magistrate denies restraining order to Barron

Watson's run prompts new British Open exemption

Andrews, Scotland (Sports Network) - Tom Watson's epic run at this year's British Open Championship prompted the R&A to amend entry criteria for future Open Championships.

On Monday, the R&A announced a new exemption category starting at the 2010 British Open at St. Andrews. Condition F (4) "exempts from qualifying any past Open Champions who finished in the top 10 and ties in any of the previous five Open Championships, thus effectively providing them with a five-year exemption into the Championship." Watson, 60, was in his final year of eligibility as a former champion this year at Turnberry. He had a sixth claret jug in his grasp, but a bogey at 18 forced him into a playoff he eventually lost to Stewart Cink.

Wie, who has six runner-up finishes and six third-place finishes in her career, claimed her first victory by two strokes over Paula Creamer. Wie ended at 13-under-par 275.

Creamer, who twice joined Wie in the lead during the final round, bogeyed the 17th at Guadalajara Country Club to end two shots back at minus-11 after shooting 70 on Sunday.

Ames comes back for Disney title

Ames parred the second playoff hole to topple George McNeill and Justin Leonard for his fourth PGA Tour victory and second in three years at this championship.

"At the end of the day yesterday, I said if I shot 64 I had a good chance at winning the tournament," said Ames, who pocketed $846,000 for the victory. "Sure enough, I ended up shooting a 64, which was great." Ames' 64 was exactly what he needed to catch Leonard and McNeill, who both had 67s on Sunday. Leonard and McNeill were third-round co-leaders and Ames was tied for eighth at the start of the round, but they all finished regulation at 18-under 270.

Bourdy edges McIlroy to win in Hong Kong

Bourdy, who held at least a share of the lead after each of the last three rounds, edged Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy by two shots at 19-under 261.
