Patriots cut ties with DB Andrews

According to a Tuesday story in the Boston Globe, Andrews was arrested in Lowell, Massachusetts on gun charges after allegedly pulling a gun on his girlfriend during an argument. It was the second scrape with the law during this offseason for Andrews, who was arrested two days after New England's 17-14 loss to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII and charged with intent to distribute marijuana.

The 24-year-old Andrews, a seventh-round pick by the Pats in 2006, saw most of his time as a special teamer. He had one tackle on defense, with 23 tackles on special teams and returned four kickoffs for 149 yards.

Bears sign Harrison, agree to terms with two others

Harrison, a third-round pick out of Arkansas, left the Razorbacks with 186 tackles and four sacks in 47 games (34 starts) over four seasons.

In addition, the team agreed to terms with wide receiver Earl Bennett and cornerback Zack Bowman on four-year deals.

Bucs grant RB Graham contract extension

As the featured back, Graham led the Bucs in rushing last season with 898 yards on 222 carries, scoring 10 touchdowns. He put together three 100-yard rushing performances in 2007 as Tampa won the NFC South with a 9-7 record.

In a four-year career, all with the Buccaneers, the 28-year-old Florida product has rushed for 1,113 yards on 274 carries, adding 50 receptions for 328 yards.

Titans officially lock up RT Stewart

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Tennessean is reporting it's a six-year deal worth $38.9 million with $10 million in guaranteed money, including a $6 million signing bonus. Stewart will reportedly receive a roster bonus of $2 million this year along with a base salary of roughly $1 million.

The 6-foot-7, 318-pound Stewart has started 30 games over the past two seasons.

Steelers release Najeh Davenport

Davenport rushed for 499 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games last season, but was deemed expendable after the Steelers inked free agent running back Mewelde Moore and used their first pick in this year's draft to select running back Rashard Mendenhall.

The 29-year-old University of Miami-Florida product spent his first four NFL seasons with the Green Bay Packers before signing with the Steelers in 2006.

Buffalo RB Lynch loses license in hit-and-run case

In the incident, Lynch's 2008 Porsche Cayenne struck a pedestrian in downtown Buffalo and then fled the scene. The woman was left with minor injuries.

OnFriday,Lynch finally admittedthat hewas the driver of the vehicle, which was impounded after being found by police. But, Lynch said that at the time of the accident, he did not believe he struck anyone with his SUV.

Jags extend Spicer's contract

The club did not disclose the terms of the contract, but the NFL Network reported that it is a two-year extension worth $8 million.

The 32-year-old Spicer, the defensive team captain last season, led the Jags with a career-high 7.5 sacks in 2007. The 10-year veteran recorded 50 tackles (36 solo), three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Niners sign OT Sims

Giants sign Snee to lucrative extension

Report: Giants to sign Snee to lucrative extension

The newspaper did not reveal monetary terms but reported that Snee will become one of the top five highest-paid players at his position.

Titans' Kearse arrested for DUI

WTVF-TV reported that Kearse was seen speeding and swerving several times before being pulled over by Nashville police.

The officer who pulled the three-time Pro Bowl selection over said Kearse exhibited slurred speech, red eyes, and smelled of alcohol.

Buffalo RB Lynch reaches agreement in hit-and-run case

Erie County (NY) district attorney Frank Clark announced an agreement in principle during a Friday news conference, but refused to disclose details of any plea until Lynch appears in court next week. However, Clark did say the agreement is related to Lynch driving the vehicle.

"This whole agreement is predicated on the fact that he was driving the car," Clark said. "Has he said that? The answer officially is no. The reason we are here and in these negotiations is all predicated on the fact that he was driving the vehicle." Bengals' Johnson undergoes ankle surgery

Bengals WR Johnson to have surgery

Johnson was limited during a mandatory minicamp last week, and his agent Drew Rosenhaus said at the time the receiver had an ankle problem that could require surgery.

Owens signed a three-year, $27 million contract extension earlier this month before news broke that he was placed in the NFL's "reasonable cause" testing program after missing a drug test.

The veteran wide receiver attributed the missed test, and subsequent missed calls by the league office to Owens, to a mix-up of phone numbers. Nevertheless, Owens will be subject to as many as 24 random tests in the next calendar year.
