  • Craftsman to leave truck series after 2008

Daytona Beach, FL (Sports Network) - Craftsman, the title sponsor of the NASCAR Truck Series since its inception in 1995, will end the relationship after the 2008 season. No indication was made as to what sponsor will replace them.

It will be the third NASCAR sponsor to announce a change in the past year. Earlier this season Nextel Cup and the Busch Series announced changes to Sprint Cup and Nationwide, respectively.

"Craftsman has been a great, longstanding partner and intends to remain in the sport," said Steve Phelps, NASCAR Chief Marketing Officer, in a joint announcement with Sears. "The current series name will continue through the 2008 season with the same great commitment Craftsman has demonstrated throughout its 13-year history."
