Flyers D Timonen to play in Game 4
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Philadelphia defenseman Kimmo Timonen will be available to play in Game 4 of the Flyers' Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Washington Capitals on Thursday.
Timonen suffered an upper body injury in the latter stages of the second period during the Flyers' 6-3 win Game 3 on Tuesday. After releasing a shot, he was checked from behind into the Capitals' net by Brooks Laich and fell hard on his shoulder onto a camera mounted in the back of the cage.
The 32-year-old Finn has one assist so far in the playoffs. He finished the regular season, his first in Philadelphia, with three goals and 20 assists.
The Flyers lead the best-of-seven series, two games to one.
