  • Blackhawks sign BC's Bertram, Brennan

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with forward Dan Bertram and defenseman Mike Brennan on Thursday.

Both players just completed their college careers with the national champion Boston College Eagles, who topped Notre Dame in the title game last Saturday.

"We are always looking to bring in players with character, passion, skill and a commitment to winning," said Blackhawks general manager Dale Tallon. "We are proud to add these outstanding young champions to the Blackhawks energetic core of players in our organization."

Bertram, 21, was Chicago's second-round pick in the 2005 draft. He posted 37 goals and 105 points in 161 games at BC over four years.

The 22-year-old Brennan served as Eagles' captain this season. Over his four years at The Heights, the able backliner compiled seven goals and 39 points in 168 contests.
