Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Colorado College junior forward Peter Sejna captured the 2003 Hobey Baker Award as college hockey's most outstanding player. He became the first European born player to win the award.

Sejna, a native of Slovakia, was the nations leader in points and goals. In 42 contests this season, Sejna tallied 36 goals and 46 assists for 82 points. He had 27 multi-point contests and recorded at least one point in all but one game.

Sejna made his NHL debut for the St. Louis Blues in the regular season finale against Colorado on Sunday. He scored a goal in the 5-2 loss.

The other finalists for the award were Cornell University sophomore goaltender Dave LeNeveu and Ferris State University senior forward Chris Kunitz.

LeNeveu posted the best goals-against average in college hockey history (1.14). He also led the nation in save percentage (.942), winning percentage (.919) and shutouts (nine). His record of 28-2-1 helped Cornell to the ECAC regular season and playoff titles.

Kunitz put together the best season in the 25-year history of Ferris State hockey. The Bulldogs were led to a first-place CCHA finish and 31 wins by Kunitz, who averaged nearly two points per game by collecting 35 goals and 44 assists in 42 games.
