  • Leonard fires 64 for lead at Disney

Lake Buena Vista, FL (Sports Network) - Justin Leonard fired an eight-under 64 to move past Justin Rose and into the lead Friday after two rounds of the Children's Miracle Network Classic.

Leonard, tied for 11th place entering the round, made 11 birdies on Disney's Palm Golf Course to go along with three bogeys.

He stood at 12-under 132 for a two-shot lead over Rose and George McNeill.

"I did make three bogeys today, a couple three-putts from kind of long range, but each time I came back and birdied the next hole to kind of get some momentum going back in my direction, and it was a fun round of golf," said Leonard.

Rose, who took the first-lead with a 65 on the Palm course, followed with a three-under 69 on the Magnolia Golf Course and moved to 10-under 134. George McNeill had a 66 at Magnolia and joined Rose in a tie for second place.

In the last tournament of the season, many players are trying to earn enough money to secure PGA Tour cards for next year. The top 125 players on the money list will keep their privileges. Those between 126 and 150 earn conditional status.

David Duval, the former world No. 1, entered the week in the 125th position but missed the cut after shooting a 73 Friday. He has already registered for the final stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School, to be played Dec. 2-7 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
