Otteson claims first Duramed Futures Tour win
Mason, OH (Sports Network) - Stephanie Otteson birdied the 18th hole on Sunday to shoot even-par 71 and win The Duramed Championship by one stroke, claiming her first career victory on the Duramed Futures Tour.
Otteson, a 24-year-old who had never finished better than seventh place on the developmental circuit, ended 54 holes at nine-under-par 204.
Her win at Kings Island netted her a $15,400 first-place check.
Jessica Shepley closed with a three-under 68 on Sunday, but it was only good enough for second place. She ended one shot back at eight-under 205 and won $11,000.
Mindy Kim shot a 72 and finished in third place at seven-under 206, with Katie Allison (72), Sarah-Jane Kenyon (71) and Eunjung Yi (64) sharing fourth place at six-under 207.
Yi, the 2007 runner-up, carded the best score of the final round by four shots.
