Wie takes sixth in Germany
Munich, Germany (Sports Network) - Michelle Wie posted a five-under 67 on Sunday, but it was only enough to get her a sixth-place finish at the Ladies German Open.
Wie chipped in for eagle at the first, then recorded four birdies, including two at her last two holes, and a bogey. She finished at 14-under-par 274 for her best finish since she tied for second at the 2006 Evian Masters.
"I feel a lot more confident about my game," said Wie. "I think a person's greed means that you always want something more. If you look at my score, 14- under-par, I'm very happy with it, but at the same time I could have done better." Amy Yang, a fellow 18-year old, also shot a five-under 67 to win the title by four shots at 21-under 267.
The win was Yang's second on the LET, but her first as a professional. Two years ago, Yang, then 16, captured the ANZ Ladies Masters in Australia as an amateur.
Yang was the youngest winner in Ladies European Tour history and turned professional shortly after the victory in Australia.
Louise Stahle of Sweden fired a seven-under 65 to take second at minus-17.
Gwladys Nocera also carded a 65 and came in third at 16-under 272.
Marta Prieto (65) and Anne-Lise Caudal (68) shared fourth place at minus-15.
