Wie trailing fellow teenager in Germany
Munich, Germany (Sports Network) - Michelle Wie shot a two-under 70 in the third round of the German Open on Saturday, but it was another talented teenager who was stealing the show.
Fellow 18-year-old Amy Yang of Korea fired a nine-under 63 to move into the lead at 16-under 200, where she was five shots ahead of two other players.
Wie, playing on the Ladies European Tour for the first time, was tied for seventh place at nine-under-par 207 -- seven shots off Yang's lead.
Though she is playing better this week than she has in her last two seasons on the LPGA Tour, Wie was frustrated on Saturday.
"I just feel like I left a lot out there," said Wie, who went 68-69 in the first two rounds. "I feel like I am not playing up to my potential and I feel like tomorrow I just have to shoot low." Now a student at Stanford, Wie has played just two events on the LPGA Tour this season, tying for 72nd place at the Fields Open in her native Hawaii and missing the cut at the Michelob Ultra Open earlier this month.
Wie missed four cuts in the seven tournaments she finished last year, when a wrist injury forced her to withdraw from two events.
