Ochoa withdraws from Annika's tournament
Mt.
Pleasant, SC (Sports Network) - Lorena Ochoa, the world's top-ranked female golfer, has withdrawn from this week's Ginn Tribute, a tournament hosted by Annika Sorenstam, the world's second-ranked woman.
Ochoa, according to her official Web site, traveled back to Mexico after learning of the death of her uncle.
Pedro Ochoa, the brother of her father, died at the age of 73 due to an illness.
A six-time winner already this year, Lorena Ochoa hasn't played since capturing the Sybase Classic in New Jersey two weeks ago. The second major of the year, the LPGA Championship, is on tap for next week.
Ochoa was the runner-up to Nicole Castrale at the inaugural Ginn Tribute last year, losing a one-hole playoff.
