  Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed backup safety and special teams player Matt Giordano, the team announced Friday.

  Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

  Giordano, 25, has played in 39 games over three seasons with the Colts, mainly in a reserve role and as a key performer on special teams. He has recorded 52 tackles and three interceptions in his NFL career.

  In 2007, the California product played in 12 games (four starts), made four special teams tackles and intercepted two passes -- including an 83-yard return for a touchdown in Indy's season-opening win over New Orleans.
