Bombers sign two
Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed defensive back Greg Bearman and added linebacker Jesse Alexander on Monday. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Bearman, a former co-captain at New Mexico State, broke into the CFL in 1999 with the B.C.
Lions and played three seasons for the Ottawa Renegades before coming to the Bombers midway through the 2006 season. Bearman played in all 18 regular season games for the Bombers in 2007 finishing third on the team with 15 special teams tackles.
Alexander played five years at Wilfrid Laurier University and registered one special teams tackle in 2007, while playing in two games for the Toronto Argonauts.
"Greg Bearman's experience and versatility on special teams are valuable commodities and we expect him to continue to contribute like he has in the past," said Bombers general manager Brendan Taman. "Jesse Alexander enjoyed an outstanding university football career and we are anxious to see what he has to offer when training camp begins."
