BC Lions extend Hunt
Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - The BC Lions extended the contract of defensive lineman Aaron Hunt on Thursday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not released.
"Extending Aaron's time as a Lion was a priority for our club this offseason," said general manager and head coach Wally Buono. "His ability as an interior defensive lineman is something we value tremendously and he's an integral part of our pass rush and overall defensive success the past two seasons."
Hunt, who was named Outstanding Rookie in 2006, racked up a career-high 38 tackles last season. In addition, he also recorded eight sacks, led all BC lineman with 10 pass knockdowns and earned a second straight West Division All-Star spot.
"BC is where I want to be now and in the future," said Hunt. "Our core group on both sides of the ball is right up there with any team in the league, and I know we have all the tools to compete for a championship."
