• San Antonio throttles Sparks in Western Conference showdown

  
  

  San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Edwige Lawson-Wade led a balanced San Antonio attack with 14 points on 4-for-4 shooting from behind the arc, as the Silver Stars dominated the Los Angeles Sparks, 76-58.

  Ann Wauters and Becky Hammon netted 12 and 11 points, respectively, in leading the Stars into a tie for the top spot in the Western Conference with Seattle.

  Candace Parker led the Sparks with 17 points to go with eight rebounds, but Lisa Leslie was held to just seven points on 3-of-11 shooting from the field in LA's first loss in five games. DeLisha Milton-Jones chipped in 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds as the Sparks fell 2 1/2 games off the pace in the West.
