  • Cappie Pondexter added 19 points and five assists for the Mercury, who have won two in a row. Phoenix also got eight points and seven assists from Kelly Miller, and Le'coe Willingham chipped in nine points off the bench as the Mercury avoided elimination from the playoff race.

    Kara Lawson scored 19 points for the Monarchs, who are clinging onto the fourth playoff spot in the Western Conference. They lead idle Houston and Minnesota by 1 1/2 games, and are in front of Phoenix by just two.

  • Ann Wauters and Becky Hammon netted 12 and 11 points, respectively, in leading the Stars into a tie for the top spot in the Western Conference with Seattle.

    Candace Parker led the Sparks with 17 points to go with eight rebounds, but Lisa Leslie was held to just seven points on 3-of-11 shooting from the field in LA's first loss in five games. DeLisha Milton-Jones chipped in 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds as the Sparks fell 2 1/2 games off the pace in the West.

  • Cathrine Kraayeveld had 18 points and Lisa Willis added 12 for the Liberty, who secured a spot in the postseason.

    Betty Lennox sank six three-pointers en route to a game-high 28-point performance for the Dream, who have dropped nine games in a row. Erika Desouza donated 10 points and six rebounds in the loss.

  • Deanna Nolan added 19 points and Kara Braxton 12 for the Shock, who have won two of their last three games. Alexis Hornbuckle chipped in 10 points in the victory for Detroit, which, at 18-12, already has a spot in the playoffs locked down in the Eastern Conference.

    Tamika Catchings poured in 20 points and grabbed 10 boards for the Fever, who saw their two-game win streak come to an end. Despite the loss, the club still occupies the final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

  • Barbara Turner came off the bench to chip in 16 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three-point range in helping the Sun to their seventh consecutive victory. Rookie Amber Holt added 11 points for the victors.

    Jia Perkins led all scorers with 18 points and Sylvia Fowles contributed 16 points and six rebounds for Chicago, which has dropped two straight. Candice Dupree and Chasity Melvin logged 13 and 12 points, respectively, in defeat.

    With the win, Seattle moves into a tie for first place with San Antonio in the Western Conference with a 19-10 record. Atlanta dropped its eighth straight game and holds a league-worst record of 3-27.
