  • Kevin Martin chipped in with 21 points, Aaron Brooks totaled 14 and Trevor Ariza added 13 for the Rockets, who have alternated wins and losses over the last eight games and finished a three-game road trip, 2-1.

    Nick Young joined Andray Blatche with 18 points, Al Thorton notched 15 points and nine rebounds and James Singleton added 12 points for the Wizards, who have lost six of seven overall.

  • Granger, who is leading the Pacers at 23.1 points per game, was suspended for one contest earlier Tuesday for an on-court fracas during Saturday's game against Phoenix.

    Brandon Rush helped to pick up the slack with 24 points and nine rebounds for Indiana, which snapped a four-game skid and won for the second time in nine games.

  • Jameer Nelson totaled 17 points with eight assists, Rashard Lewis chipped in with 15 points, Vince Carter contributed 13 points and Matt Barnes joined J.J. Redick in double figures with 10 points apiece for Orlando, which has won six straight.

    Howard recorded his 51st double-double of the campaign as Orlando led by as many as 30 and only trailed briefly in the opening quarter.

  • At the time of the February 4 announcement, the Clippers disclosed Dunleavy would remain in the front office, focusing exclusively on the team's personnel matters. That came to a conclusion Tuesday night.

    "The organization has determined that the goal of building a winning team is best served by making this decision at this time," the Clippers said in a statement. "The team has simply not made sufficient progress during Dunleavy?s seven-year tenure.

  • Both men were hit with the penalties for their actions during the third quarter of the Suns' victory over the Pacers in Phoenix on Saturday. Frye threw a punch at Granger, who retaliated.

    In addition, the league dished out a $30,000 fine to Pacers guard Earl Watson for escalating the incident on the court, and $25,000 fines to Indiana's Roy Hibbert and Jason Richardson of Phoenix for adding to the escalation of an on- court incident.

  • Traditionally the Jazz don't perform all that well away from Salt Lake City but things have changed recently and Jerry Sloan's club will be shooting for its ninth win in its past 11 games as the visitor tonight.

    Most recently Utah, which is 1 1/2 games south of the Nuggets for the Northwest lead, earned a 107-85 win over the LA Clippers in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

  • Carmelo Anthony posted 30 points on Sunday to lead Denver to a 118-106 victory over Portland in a Northwest Division battle.

    Jerryd Bayless scored 24 points to lead the Trail Blazers, who had won five of six coming into the game. Andre Miller added 29 points and LaMarcus Aldridge had 16 for Portland. Brandon Roy, however, made just 3-of-14 from the floor for 12 points in defeat.

  • The Lakers dropped their third straight game in Orlando on Sunday when Vince Carter scored a team-high 25 points, and Dwight Howard added 15 points and 16 rebounds, as the Magic escaped with a 96-94 win in a rematch of last season's NBA Finals.

    Kobe Bryant, who missed a potential game-tying shot at the fourth-quarter buzzer, led all scorers with 34 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists for the Lakers, who have dropped three straight -- all on the road -- for the first time since January 23-27, 2008.

  • The Bobcats have won the first two meetings with Miami this season and eight of the previous 12 matchups between the clubs. The Heat have also lost five of their last six trips to the Queen City.

    Wade and the Heat are currently seventh in the Eastern Conference standings, just a half-game in front of Chicago, and have ripped off three straight wins, including a 100-94 triumph versus Atlanta on Saturday in the finale of a perfect three-game homestand. Wade recorded a game-high 38 points and had 10 assists for Miami, which has won three straight following a four-game slide.   • On Sunday, Allen hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 17.1 seconds left in regulation to lift the Celtics to an 86-83 comeback victory over the Washington Wizards at TD Garden. Allen ended with a game-high 25 points for Atlantic Division-leading Boston, which closed out the game on a 20-4 run in the final 6:33 of the fourth quarter for its fourth straight win.

  • Philadelphia was able to snap a five-game losing streak with Sunday afternoon's 114-101 triumph over the Raptors at Air Canada Centre thanks to Thaddeus Young, who scored a career-high 32 points on 13-of-18 shooting. Rookie Jrue Holliday netted 21 points and Andre Iguodala scored 16 in a winning effort.

    "My jumper was really going good," Young said. "My teammates put me in positions to do well. As a team, we just wanted to come out aggressively and get the lead and maintain the lead throughout the game." Elton Brand had 12 points and nine boards in the win, just the Sixers' third in their last 11 tries. Philadelphia ended a three-game road losing streak and improved to 13-20 as the guest this season.

  • Carter scored a team-high 25 points in Sunday's hard-fought 96-94 win over the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers in the opener of the residency, while double-double machine Dwight Howard muscled his way to 15 points and 16 rebounds for the Southeast Division-leading Magic, who are second in the conference standings and 18-5 in their previous 23 games. It has alternated wins and losses over the past seven games and suffered a 110-107 overtime loss in Detroit the last time out on Sunday. Rockets newcomer Kevin Martin led the squad with 27 points, but missed a potential game-tying three-pointer at the end of overtime. Aaron Brooks added 25 points and seven assists in defeat.

    "We came here and gave it a good fight," said Brooks, who has averaged 23.0 points and 6.8 assists over his last 10 games. "We knew it was going to be a tough one.   • Parker was examined Monday by Dr. David Green and the initial diagnosis of a non-displaced stable fracture of the right fourth metacarpal was confirmed. He is still expected to be sidelined for about six weeks.

  • Memphis has lost eight consecutive contests as the home team since besting the defending world champion Los Angeles Lakers on February 1.   • Atlanta had its four-game winning streak cut short with Saturday's 100-94 loss at Miami in the opener of a three-game trek. Sixth Man of the Year candidate Jamal Crawford scored 24 points off the bench to lead Atlanta, which dropped to 15-15 as the visitor this season.

    Joe Johnson netted 20 points and Josh Smith had 17 in the tough loss.
