  • Arrow gets two-year extension at South Alabama

Mobile, AL (Sports Network) - South Alabama men's basketball coach Ronnie Arrow has received a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the school through the 2012-2013 season.

In his first season of his second stint with the Jaguars, Arrow guided the team to a 26-7 record, winning the Sun Belt's regular season conference championship.

The team earned a 10-seed in last year's NCAA Tournament, but fell to 7-seed Butler in the first round.

Arrow previously coached at South Alabama from 1987-95, compiling a 114-93 record in those years. After leaving to become the head coach at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi from 1998-2007, he returned to coach the Jaguars to their second consecutive 26-win season.

The 60-year-old coach was selected as the Sun Belt Conference's Coach of the year -- his third time receiving the award. South Alabama also became the second school in league history to place four players on the all-conference team.
