  • Arizona declines option on Tracy, among bevy of moves

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks declined their 2010 option on infielder Chad Tracy on Thursday.

The 29-year-old Tracy, who plays both first and third base, hit a career-low .237 with eight homers and 39 RBI in 98 games for the Diamondbacks last season.

Tracy has spent his entire six-year career in Arizona, contributing 78 homers and 318 RBI to go with a .280 average in 704 games.

Arizona also outrighted pitcher Daniel Cabrera, outfielder Trent Oeltjen and outfielder Alex Romero to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Cabrera elected to become a free agent after going a combined 0-6 with a 6.00 earned run average in 15 games -- nine starts -- with Washington and Arizona last season. The six-year veteran spent the first five years of his career in Baltimore, where he went 12-8 as a rookie in 2004.

The club also announced pitcher Yusmeiro Petit was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Mariners, and left-handed pitcher Doug Slaten was claimed off waivers by the Washington Nationals.

Petit went 3-10 in 23 games -- 17 starts -- in his third season in Arizona, while Slaten pitched to a 7.11 earned run average in 11 bullpen appearances last year.
