Burres, O's blank Yankees
Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Brian Burres and Jim Johnson combined to throw a six-hit shutout, as Baltimore blanked the New York Yankees, 6-0, in the second contest of a three-game set at Camden Yards.
Burres (2-1) gave up five hits over 5 2/3 innings, with four walks and two strikeouts for the Orioles, who have won three in a row. Johnson picked up his first save of the season after allowing just one hit over the final 3 1/3 frames.
Kevin Millar went 2-for-4 with a solo homer to power Baltimore's offense, while Ramon Hernandez doubled twice and drove in two. Aubrey Huff doubled and also had two RBI.
Ian Kennedy (0-2) struggled in 2 2/3 innings, giving up four runs on five hits, with five walks and four strikeouts.
Alex Rodriguez went 2-for-4, and Derek Jeter tripled for the Yankees, who have been outscored 14-2 so far this series, and have lost three in a row.
